Středočeský vysokoškolský institut (Central Bohemian Institute of Higher Education) has been operating as a private higher education institution of bachelor studies since 2002.

Up-to-date school information
- The school has acquired a grant from the European Social Fund to establish a Centre for lifelong education which would provide a wide range of training for commercial and enterprise activities in the form of full-time, combined and e-learning studies.
- All study programmes have been remodelled into education modules in which the credit system expresses the level of difficulty of individual modules. As such they have been submitted to the MŠMT (Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the Czech Republic) as required for the repeat accreditation.
- The school obtained the Erasmus University Charter from The EU Commission in Brussels in May 2005, permitting the school to enter the European credit transfer system.
- Starting with the final exams in June this year, graduates are going to receive not only a degree certificate but also a "Supplement Diploma" indicating the completed modules and allocated credits which will be acknowledged for potential further studies of related academic disciplines in the the Czech Republic as well as in the EU. A student is obliged to obtain the missing number of credits in order to achieve a number of 180 for bachelor studies and 300 for master studies.
- Based upon the agreement with the national centre of Europass, the Supplement Diploma will be issued as a part of the Europass.

What are our preferences?
- Our institution favours on individual student approach. Our mentors not only lecture but in particular focus on cooperation with students, tutor them, instruct them how to use information and how to apply this in real life.
- The length of studies may be shorter than accredited if the student - a college of higher education graduate - is able to pass all the exams, graded credits or other forms of a final evaluation of the individual subjects of the given curriculum.

Study programme goals:
The fundamental aim of the study programme is to provide students with an academic degree enabling them directly to participate in the selected field of study.
The study programme is designed so that it not only leads to an immediate link to the master studies but also provides theoretical knowledge and creative practical skills. This helps graduates to became acquainted with current scientific knowledge and creates conditions for their its use in practice.
The philosophy of teaching meets the requirements for the integration of the Czech Republic in the EU.
Business economics and management
Profile of graduates
The conceptual framework of this discipline stems from the need to provide an elaborated educational training necessary for the professionals in managerial positions. The specific aim of this field of study is to create such abilities and skills that will lead to mastering the routines of managerial habits in all the basic spheres of management, applying managerial techniques and skills and their systematic application in daily practise. Apart from basic understanding of management,
marketing and logistics, the graduate gains deeper knowledge and skills in the following fields: business economics, basic knowledge of technique and technology for economists, production management and financial controlling. The variety of knowledge mastered creates conditions for integration of graduates into lower and middle managerial positions of production companies, consulting companies, logistics companies, travel agencies etc.
The syllabus is divided into a general part (compulsory and restricted elective subjects) and a specialized part (compulsory and restricted elective subjects) and a professional specialized part (compulsory subjects).
The curriculum of the 1st year of study is designed in such a way that it allows to level the differences of knowledge of individual students coming from high schools of various types.
In the general part the student gains necessary knowledge and skills in mathematics, financial mathematics, statistics, elements of law, elements of IT, economic geography while an indivisible part of this field is language preparation in two foreign languages. Two restricted elective subjects, according to the student´s interest are added to the general part. (European integration, Social communication, Social interaction, Philosophy and ethics, Foreign language
conversation, Seminar of mathematics)
In the specialized part the student gains knowledge and skills in working with legal norms, sources of law and other information sources including the automatized IT system. The student is able to operate with statistical and other data, process data for analyses and prognosis and is familiar with rules and patterns of micro and macroeconomics, with the patterns of effectivness of a financial market, the entities participating in the market, and is also able to apply the
above mentioned knowledge in current practice in the Czech Republic as well as in world economics.
Furthermore, the students become familiar with the state budget, with particular emphasis on the tax system of the Czech Republic. The students get acquainted with elements of accounting, management and marketing, and learn to use knowledge of psychology and sociology. The students obtain knowledge and skills in financial management. The acquired knowledge and skills are supplemented with a choice of two subjects: Economy of small-scale and middle-size enterprise, Enviromental management,
Motivation of a professional behaviour, Managerial IT, Production control 2, Economic law.
In the professional specialized part the student builds up on the professional basics mainly of Business economics, Elements of management, Elements of marketing. Business economics 2, Production control 1, Management 2, PR management, Elements of logistics, Operations research, Marketing 2, Applied PC technology, Managerial accounting and the Diploma seminar are listed among the subjects in the professional specialized part of the syllabus.
Upon having completed the above listed subjects, the students acquire sufficient knowledge to be thoroughly familiar with the fields of business economics and production management.

The specific aim of this field of study is to create such abilities and skills that lead to mastering the routines of managerial habits in all the basic spheres of management, applying managerial techniques and skills and their systematic application in a daily practice. Apart from the Elements of management, Marketing and
logistics, the graduate gains deeper knowledge in the following fields:Business management, Forms of sales, International trading operations, Business marketing, Financial operations etc.
The variety of knowledge mastered creates conditions for a complete integration of graduates into managerial roles of companies and multinational firms. The graduates possess neccessary knowledge for preparation and realization of trade and payment operations of enterprise entities in the economic and legal environments in both national as well as the international economy.
The syllabus is divided into a general part (compulsory and restricted elective subjects), specialized part (compulsory and restricted elective subjects), and proffesional specialized part (compulsory subjects).

In the professional specialized part the student builds up on the professional basics mainly of the business economics, management, marketing. Logistics, Business marketing, Economic law, Personnel management, Banking and Insurance business, Business management, Legal system of the EU, Applied PC technology, Accounting and Diploma seminar are listed among the subjects in the proffesional specialized part of the syllabus.
Upon having completed the above listed subjects, the students acquire such mass of knowledge that they are well familiar with the fields of business economics, business management as well as national and international trade operations.
Marketing
The conceptual framework of this discipline stems from the need to provide an elaborated educational training necessary for the professionals in managerial positions. Specific aim of this field of study is to create such abilities and skills that lead to mastering the routines of managerial habits in all the basic spheres of management, applying managerial techniques and skills and their systematic application in daily practise. Apart from the basics of management, business economics,
personnel management and logistics, the graduate gains deeper knowledge in the following fields: Market research, Marketing communication, Marketing tools, Market segmentation, Consumer behaviour, Business marketing, Financial operations etc.
The variety of knowledge mastered creates conditions for a complete integration of the graduates into upper managerial roles of marketing and advertising companies, or into marketing departments of production and commercial companies. The graduates possess neccessary knowledge for being able to communicate with people working in the field of marketing and view their activities with reference to requirements of economic and legal environment of a national and world economy.

Upon having completed the above listed subjects, the students acquire necessary knowledge to be well familiar with the fields of marketing and management of national and multinational companies.
